Our company values are the main thing for me: doing good for health care is something that has tangible benefits across all of society and is something that I feel really proud to be able to contribute to.
It sounds crazy, but I felt like I really 'clicked' with Aire Logic at the interview. Healthcare technology has so many applications and there's a really wide variety of projects that Aire Logic works on. As a developer that's really exciting. I've been so lucky to work with some really interesting technologies on large scale projects, and to be supported all the way in everything that I've done.
Compassionate, passionate, innovative, friendly, fun.
It's such a textbook answer, but there is no typical day! Agile is a big part of Aire Logic, so structurally your day might start with a stand-up, but after that who knows. Sometimes I'm working full time on site with the client project that I'm assigned to, other days I might be looking at supporting tenders for Aire Logic, interviewing for new staff members, or getting to know one of my colleagues at one of our away days.
Aire Logic has been such a positive step in my career. I've continuously been encouraged and given opportunities to attempt new and exciting challenges within the company, as well as being placed on a client site where I've also had so many opportunities to grow professionally. There's so much to get involved in at Aire Logic that career development is really what you make of it.
The culture at Aire Logic is so driven by our values of doing good for healthcare, staff and the company and it really shows in the people that we hire. Everyone is incredibly friendly, incredibly dedicated and incredibly smart. Although we're a fast growing consultancy, we try and do lots to make sure that people touch base with the office and get to know each other.
The work I do is both valuable and it's interesting. Within Aire Logic and on client sites I'm so lucky to work with so many incredibly talented and passionate people, which is super motivating.
Aire Logic is really good at sharing people's achievements and celebrating the good work that we do. My role as a Principle Consultant means that I get an oversight of the work that we are doing with NHS Digital, and it's really interesting to hear what other teams are doing and to share our knowledge across the company through regular social events, lunch and learns and away days.
We've expanded so rapidly that it can be really hard to keep track of all of the new people joining the company, and it's especially hard while we're even more distributed than usual because of working from home due to the COVID-19 situation. I wish that I had more opportunity to get to know and work with my Aire Logic colleagues as much as I do my colleagues on client sites.
It's so important for me to have a job that I enjoy doing and that I feel has a beneficial output to society. Working in healthcare achieves both of these for me, as well as giving me the opportunity to develop and see how far I've come in my relatively short time with Aire Logic.
We regularly call out cool stuff that Aire Logic has been working on at our all staff meetings. I feel like everyone at Aire Logic is really good at giving credit to colleagues who've done a good job, and that everyone is really pleased when people have been able to achieve something awesome. We have an annual trip away (last year we went to Lisbon in Portugal)which is a really great way of celebrating what a fantastic job we're doing as a company, as teams within a company and as individuals, and certainly makes me feel appreciated as an employee of Aire Logic.
