Meet the headliners

My vision is for us to provide the very best, most appropriate, mental health support to the people who come to us for help. We have great foundations and will build on them to make sure this happens. I work closely with our board of trustees and senior management team to bring this vision to life. Experience of mental illness in my own family means the expertise and dedication we have at Northpoint also has personal significance.

Northpoint is a leading mental health charity delivering a diverse range of effective support for children, young people and adults across Yorkshire and beyond. By providing accessible, compassionate care through talking therapies and digital support, Northpoint helps people access the right support in a way that works for them. Guided by a vision of a world that supports good mental health for all, the organisation delivers consistent focus on quality, innovation and positive outcomes for the communities it serves.

Joseph brings deep healthtech expertise to his work, with a strong belief that good technology should make care safer, simpler, and more human.

At Aire Logic, he is motivated by the chance to turn that belief into practical change by helping build digital services that genuinely improve outcomes for patients, clinicians, and the wider system. He is especially inspired by the long-term potential of employee-owned businesses, where shared responsibility and shared success can create better decisions, stronger cultures, and more meaningful impact. That model reflects his view that the best organisations are built by people who care not just about the work, but about the future of the business itself. He is ambitious for what Aire Logic can achieve as a healthcare-focused, values-led company, and continues to play a part in helping it grow with purpose. For clients, he typically contributes on strategy, delivery and innovation, bringing a thoughtful and lateral thinking perspective grounded in real sector knowledge.

Lord Bethell is one of the United Kingdom's most authoritative voices on the future of health. A former Health Minister, investor and advocate, he speaks to the generational shift now underway, from a century of treating illness to an era of preventing it, and to the extraordinary economic, scientific and human opportunities that shift creates.

Along with Steve Brine, James is co-host of Prevention is the New Cure, a podcast on health and policy featuring NHS leaders, health tech founders, campaigners, and the occasional dog-lover and wild-swimmer. A serious conversation, conducted with a light touch, he is also an accomplished house music DJ.

His work sits at the intersection of prevention science and the public policy needed to bring them together and he brings to the platform the rare combination of ministerial experience, operator's instinct and investor's eye. He has taken legislation through Parliament, built and sold businesses, and today advises governments, investors and operators on the shift from treatment to prevention, and supports prevention-economy businesses. He is a Senior Advisor at the Milken Institute and Senior Visiting Fellow at King's College London. In Parliament, he chairs the APPG for Health and is a Trustee of the Royal Society for Public Health and Chair of Business for Health. He also supports the Barbara Windsor Foundation's work on neurodegenerative disease.
