local government

We’re using data, technology and innovation to transform public services, improve citizens’ lives and drive efficiencies.

Transforming for a Digital Future

Our team has significant experience providing technical and strategic delivery to local authority partners. We're passionate about using technology and data to deliver public services that positively impact residents’ lives, however complex the underlying systems or policy.

As a tech-for-good company, we focus on adding greater value to wider communities and the environment. That’s why we work closely with partners like Generation UK and CodeYourFuture to provide equal access to tech careers and aim to achieve net zero by 2030

Why work with us?

Renewing or updating IT.

We understand legacy technology is one of the challenges hindering digital transformation within local councils. Our proven system architecture and integration expertise will help you join up services using technologies that work with your current infrastructure. We are also highly experienced in renewing outdated IT systems to automate and digitise routine manual processes — enabling policy delivery and great services for users.

Diverse teams.

We specialise in user-centred design, delivery, data and technology, work in the open and value experimenting or trying new things. Committed to putting users first, we help to deliver exceptional products and services. Our teams are also experienced in training customer teams. For example, as part of a large migration/DevOps project, we performed intensive cross-project mentoring to upskill council staff in business analysis. We also increased the council’s technical team’s knowledge of Azure infrastructure and software development best practices.

User-centred design.

With increased citizen demand for online services, our user-centred design experts are ready to design the best citizen experience. Through our existing partnership with local government and healthcare, we have delivered solutions that serve some of the most vulnerable or excluded people. As such, we recognise that creating inclusive public services is essential to the design process.

Low-code technology.

We also specialise in low-code platform technology. Low code enables you to build full-stack applications 3 to 10 times faster than standard development. Our product team can help you integrate low-code solutions with all your systems to increase the value of your digital solutions. Data can also move freely, enabling true end-to-end experiences for citizens. Rather than having hundreds of disparate applications that don't communicate.

Saving costs.

Undoubtedly digital transformation saves money in many areas like printing costs, online payment options, product development and service running costs — enabling you to use funding in better ways. What’s more, low-code solutions offer licensing models, allowing you to build and expand digitalisation without additional fees. This gives you more autonomy to update your own applications to accommodate new policies and processes, avoiding extra fees from legacy vendors.

Better data insights.

Our teams can help you structure your data to give employees a more enhanced ability to analyse data quickly and have greater transparency. Our work on the Leeds Covid-19 dashboard demonstrates how analytics tools can help councils gain powerful insights to make more informed decisions about their services. We’re also experienced in delivering case management software, enabling caseworkers to retrieve information in real-time to provide appropriate assistance and advice.

Working with Leeds City Council to harness data

To support Leeds City Council in making better use of data during the height of the pandemic,

To support Leeds City Council in making better use of data during the height of the pandemic, we built a data management system to automate the process of data collection and analysis of Covid-19 cases – helping the council manage coronavirus in the city, direct resources to the right settings, and guide public health decisions.

Since introducing this, the council has seen significant benefits that support productivity and efficiency and guide data-driven decision making.
